Sunday night/Monday mornings storm provided 16 inches according to the mountain and it isn't an exaggeration. There was knee deep powder everywhere. Soft, dry and fluffy. And it snowed pretty much all afternoon!

Up top everything was open, including Rumor and Lies. Both had massive bumps and no skiers. Hawkeye must have been groomed there were virtually no bumps in the begining of the day. Chatimac was very lumpy. Amazing, amazing snow everywhere. Open Pit, Hullabalo, Darby, Cloud, Headwaters, you name it, all w/great cover and pockets of fluff.

The lower mountain was equally fantastic. Everything was open and in great shape except for Twister. I think there was racing training going on over there. I could not get to the Twister glades but I'm sure they must be in great shape.

The new Northwoods gondola is a very nice addition. It will probably keep intermediates on the lower hill where most of the blue square stuff is and free up the Straight Brook chair for expert runs on the weekends. It's fast, warm and brand spanking new. I miss the old red clunker allready.

There was absolutely no crowd. I mean zero. If the racers weren't there the Showcase triple would have had about one skier/rider per every 10 chairs on average. It was ski up to the lift every time, all day.

What a difference the snow makes! Drop everything, go now!
