Heavenly Dec 11-12, 2004

Skied Heavenly for the weekend.

Weather: Sunny blue skies with temps in 40s/50s. Light winds. :D

Snow: Quite fresh and carvable both days. I guess 24-30" new will do that.

Coverage: Coverage was quite good (for Heavenly). Almost 100% open. Milky Way, Mott and Ellie's still rocky -- but almost everything else was skiing quite well.

After not skiing Heavenly for quite a few years, it was nice to get back. Almost all the chairlifts are HS Quads or Six-Pacs. The Gondola is a nice feature from the Casinos. A lot of bottlenecks have been removed.

It is the best intermediate mountain in Tahoe -- views, cruising, HS lifts, etc. However, outside of a couple of mogul runs and Mott Canyon -- there is nothing for experts.

Even South Lake Tahoe is looking better these days.
