Heavenly Valley

Sorry to miss you. I met two locals, both ski about 90 days a season! One a part-time Lake Tahoe attorney now is 74, the other also a bit senior. They kick butt and have taken me down Motts, in the trees on all the secret areas known to their local grand kids, etc. They are incredible. One is tall and weights over 200# with long skis. So, we ski fast to keep up!I am not a senior citizen and they are! I mean tearing down gunbarrel, Motts, in the trees all over the steeps. The rocks are starting to appear in many places! I am tired! Heavenly all week! The Hotel place is great, 20 minutes from Heavenly, 30 or so a night on an internet deal, clean, large, business conference center! Plaza Hotel and Conference Center off the 395 in Carson City, NV! I have also been drug all over to Harrahs meals, etc. and invited on hikes and snow shoes. I am tired studying at night. Their is an impending strike action for 7200 for 11 days of work. I hope to get it and a chance to take my test early or late. The last day I have an exam online at 7 pm! Then more free days to ski. Carol

I spent the morning of the last 2 Snowbird days chasing retirees like that and barely keeping up. I met them because two of them are in our Chatter Creek group. They generally come from other places, get a place in the Salt Lake Valley and live there 3-6 months of the year. Wednesday Joanie and her friends came up in the morning, skied 6 trams and then went home for lunch. On Tuesday I bailed from Dave's group at 2PM after 6 trams (9 for them as they started earlier) because my feet hurt too much from the rental boots and I needed to ride some chairs to take a break.

Yep, living up here make a difference, huge difference. I learned that at Big Bear! The locals here are so friendly. In 4 days I have made 3 good friends because we have skied together so long and dined for long hours. It is a lifestyle I miss, so much appreciation for life in these mountians! Celebrate it while you can! My knee is holding up, hopefully a little more until summer!

Enjoy and get rid of that ragged jacket!
