HEAVY POWDER DAY! HEAVY WINDS!
Most of Tahoe was closed Easter Sunday. Kirkwood was not available - all roads closed due to snow. Most lifts closed at Alpine and Squaw. Heavy winds and heavy snow....one of the few times for Homewood.
The snow was falling at Lake level Sunday AM. Suprisingly! Colder storm than expected.
We quickly got situated on the Ellis Chair for most of the day. A quirky old double. It serves the best open areas, trees and steeps on the mountain. Long ride. However, we did not have to share it with many. Heavy, but not settled was the rule.
Powder was 6-12" at start of day -- with totals near 12"-18" by the end. Tracks were filled in all day.
