How many days can/will I ski in the next 2 weeks?

I have 13 possible days to ski in Utah beginning on Saturday.

How many do you think I will ski?

How many will be devoted to shopping?

How many will be devoted to soaking in hot water?

13 soaking,

shopping? Really?

well, there is a Patagucci outlet, and isn't the big REI clearance sale coming up?

Does Backcountry.com have a store?

actually, I don't need anything...but hey, ya never know...and I'd be remiss if I didn't bring something home for the man.

Last year we had 4 deep powder days in a row our first 4 days. By day 5, we were beat, so we took a day off and commited it to soaking, relaxing and a walk in the dog park for the pups. I don't foresee those kinds of days ahead in the wx fx, so it is unlikely I'll need a day off, but we'll see how it goes. Snow is in the forecast for the week, and hell if I miss a powder day...not gonna happen.

The most consecutive days I've skied is 11 in March 2001. The first 3 of those were at the Iron Blosam with some new snow (yes, it happens occasionally) and I was beat. But I seemed to recover during a mellow day 4 at Deer Valley and was fine for the rest of the trip in Wyoming and Montana.

Patrick was with me for a shorter version of this trip in reverse. My legs were never lively for 3 days after a first-day climb up the Ridge at Bridger. When we ended up in Jackson, I took a day off (snowcoach trip into Yellowstone, very worthwhile) so I'd be rested for the powder in the weather forecast.

13 baby, 13!!! \:D/ Not bad for someone that had barely skied before my trip (blame it on work). I would like to bounce back the same way this year (blame it on my stupid injury), however I don't see myself lining up days like this in the short term. :(

2003 - Europe 10 out 11 days (day off was a travel day between Jungfrauch/Interlake and Val Thorens).

Most I've skied (alpine) in a row is 8 days in British Columbia.

I've actually been on skis (including skinny touring skis) every day since the beginning of the year...over 20 days! I think I snowshoed one day when we had that last thaw...when was that? wasn't it right before New Years?

I'll try to keep you posted. Almost done packing.

It was earlier than normal this year.

Yes, at 3600 W @ Parkway Blvd in West Valley, although I'd call it more of a showroom than a store. They have a sampling of their best merchandise on display, without price tags. There's a bank of computers on which to look stuff up. Jot down the item code, then go over to the cashier and have them pull it from the warehouse.

43 days in a row is my record, first yr patrolling at The Canyons. My work schedule was monday-friday, 10hr days pulling sleds, hiking, throwing bombs and skiing of course. Patrollers who called in sick were pretty much the object of torment and ridicule. My animal-child Jordan was on the Park City race team on the weekends. You should see him now-a 190lb skiing machine. Took him to all the races/practices, and skied, naturally!

Cool, but still pretty far from the guy that has skied over 1000 days in a row (not a typo). Don't know if he still skiing, but saw him skiing Loveland in October 14 months after he reach 1000.

While this may seem kind of lame, I skied 6 days in a row at Alta, Bird , and Snowbasin......and wanted more. The altitude didn't get me this time. Ski as much as you can...then rest a little.

no rest for a while...we've got snow falling for the next few days

I feel good today. No soreness. Still on eastcoast time. Got out of bed way too early this morning. Canyon doesn't open until 10am, so that's all the rest I'm going to get for a while.
