We left as early as we could for Jay next morning. We made it to the resort by about 9:45 only to get ushered into a parking lot so far away I didn't even know it existed. How many freakin' Jeep owners are there? I should have known from the caravans of skiers (in Spring yet!!!) heading east down the 401 that things would be crowded.

You could see from the approach road that Jay was noticeably whiter than the surrounding peaks (an illusion?). Nope - everything everyone said is the truth. Unreal - all the lifts required a hard pole push/ sidestep to get out the top unloading pits.

We did a tour of Beyond Beaver Pond, Expo, Canyonland, Staircase, etc. mostly off the GMF. Everything was just awesome. The face chutes aren't even chutes anymore, just a big white area.

Couple of regrets. The tram line was soooo long we didn't even waste time waiting the whole day. So many people, we lost Briar and Jonny at the day's start, said we'd meet up later, then never found them until the end of the day. Oh well, they had a good time. Freakin' huge moguls on all the groomers by day's end. They will be wickedly unskiable if allowed to freeze into ice bumps.

All too soon, it was time to drive eight hours back home.
