Hit Jay around 10 AM on Friday. Sunny skies, light wind and light crowds made for a great day of skiing. The groomed trails were a strange combination of packed powder, hard pack and hard packed powder. We gave up on the trails early and found the glades to be filled with soft powder. The snow difference between the glades and trails was remarkable.

Mt Sutton was an interesting place to visit on Saturday. We made it to the chair at the main lodge when it started at 8:30 AM. Sutton has a lot of trails, a lot of snow, a lot of lifts and at times a lot of skiers.

The snow was remarkably consitatnt on trails and the sous bois. The snow was softer than at the Jay Peak trails, but not as powdery as the Jay glades. The Sutton skiers were remarkably good and tended to segregate on trails according to their ability.

The sois bois at Sutton are fun, not quite glades and defintely not open slopes. Sutton has a wide range of trails from novice through advanced. The advanced trails featured narrow chutes, moguls and a few trees.

We had a great time and will definetly be back. The skiing was great and lift tickets were cheap.

Jay on 1/14 was warm and cloudy. The glades weren't as sweet as Friday, but the trails were softer. The limited visibility on the upper 3/4 of the mountain made akiing tricky. Not the best day of skiing at Jay, but a lot of fun.
