Well what can be said...its JUNE 1...Snowbird got the tram work completed VERY early and we're again riding the can to the top.....Met up with Bobby D, Tele Jon, Pat, Amy and later in the day Heather.

1st run was a nice smooth corn run out towards baldy express. Nice little warmup. 2nd run a quick one down the upper cirque. Getting there wasnt all that fun, but once there...mmmmmm corny goodness. Then it was time to make the pilgrimage to our beloved alta. Took the baldy shoulder traverse up and headed over to alta towards tombstone. Beautiful corn up top....traversed over towards wildcat chair and made a run through wildcat trees and over to the westward ho gate. Got back to Tram plaza at about noon and decided lunch was in order. quick lunch, then it was time for the real fun...Right up top to Main chute. We had a first timer with us (Amy) and she was slightly apprehensive. Standing atop baldy at about 1:30 sun blazing ready to hit Main chute...still a LOT of snow in there. Dropped in to some nice hero snow. Ran it down to the apron and traversed out to the top of Keyhole, and proceeded to make a sweet run through the keyhole and back into the bird.
Amy, Pat, and Jon were DONE...Bobby, Heather and I decided to hit the second to last tram of the day for a last run down Jaws. Good way to end the day.

Just another day in ZION.....

Glad someone wrote up a report from the weekend, I was waiting to read this.

Been hitting Abasin and some BC stuff in the snowys up lately.

Maybe I'll get out to SLC before the Bird shuts down for the season.

Good stuff. There should be lots of snow this summer! Just have to find a job now.

In utah?? what do you do??? theres sooo much work here its laughable.

Well foolishly enough, I want a job in the industry (ski or outdoor sports), which isn't as easy to crack into as one might expect. Have a few prospects that are still panning out. Probably, Marketing/Advertising/PR type job.

Ahhh I keep my eyes open for that stuff too, but im in Information technology. I have a contact at Park City, but theres nothing open at this point.

Oh well I troll the local resort web sites and look for openings.

It's too bad the pay scale is so low at most of the resorts. I was shocked once when I found a full-time year round "Director" position at sub-$40K. There was also a high-visibility (and probably high stress) web marketing position a few years ago for a laughable $13/hr. I think the UTA bus drivers make more.

ooh! slippery slope. i know many folks in the industry of which you seek that used to ski regularly. it's all what you make of it i guess.

Don't worry. If I'm not skiing enough I'll find a different job. At this point the career aspirations are of skiing not of jobs.
