Keystone/Breck 3/2-3

My lil sis was in town from DC last week so we went up to Summit County for some skiing/riding. I didn't do much myself as I was trying to hang with my sister who isn't much of a skier or rider. Had a good time anyway.

I-70 was completely out of hand Sunday morning. When I woke up at 6 AM there was no snow in boulder. An hour later when I went to clean off my car there was more than 2" of snow on it. The picture below demonstrates when that happens and you put a bunch of idiots in 2-wheel drives without snow tires on 70.

We skied Keystone Sunday. Shorty (my sis) stayed mostly on the Bunny Hill learning to snowboard. I took a quick run down Diamondback, which was pretty icy. It seemed like everything steeper than 20 degrees had all the dust blown off. Blues and greens were nice and soft though.

Monday morning I got up early to take advantage of the fact that we were staying in Breckenridge and I could get in a pre-first chair run. I skinned about halfway up Peak 9 and then rode down for first chair... Then I walked back to the hotel to get Shorty out of bed.

Monday was a beautiful day. Soft new snow, bluebird skys, not crowded. It was great!
