Sun came out for the day and it was glorious. Hardly anyone had hiked up T1 and so lucky for us we had first tracks down a nice steep chute with some fun small cliff drops into waist deep champagne powder. I think it's super bowl.
Smiles all day long! It was soo good we did the run 3 times that day. The upper section was really deep, probably from the blow in over night, the middle tree section was untouched and even deeper in spots. We found a nice pillow line to drop and that was super fun. FInally the run out has become my favorite place on the whole mountain. It full of pillows and hits and jumps and things down the entire thing. The snow is still very deep there and hardly anyone has tracked it up yet!
I think all the snow here was from the mid-week surprise powder day.
From everyone I talked to this has been the best week of the year so far. Pretty much everyday I've been riding powder, and 3 days have been full on powder days. The rest of the days we hiked the slack country and found powder stashes as well.
I'm definitely a fan of KH, but can see how if it hasn't snowed in a few days, that it can get rather boring pretty quickly. Most of the mountain is now punched out and hard now, but the cool thing i've noticed about this place is that 2-4 inches goes a long way here. Those small amounts really seem to add up to alot more in those secret stashes.
The long traverses are pretty tough on a snowboard, but well worth the leg burn for the runs that follow.
I'll post pictures when i finally get back to some high speed internet
