Today’s conditions were better than yesterday’s. The wind was way down from yesterday. A light to moderately heavy snow fell all day with about 1-2” of accumulations. The conditions on most of the trails were packed powder with piled up powder and some light fluff.

Some of the best runs were definitely in the Canyon and Glades. Rime and East Glade were in good shape with some nice powder on the skier’s left by the end of the day. East Fall was in good shape, with lots of powder on it. Cascade was in good shape as well. Needle’s Eye was okay, but not great. K seemed to do a good job resurfacing the areas that were in dire need, such as Frostline/G.E. Beginners were having a fit with that section of trail because huge bumps and jump were forming by late in the day and visibility was very little because of the guns and natural snow.

Today I took only 1 chairlift the whole day, the Glade Triple. I skied a lot of trails off of the K1, in order to keep warm. I never, never ski the K1, but there was no line, which made it a fun, fast and warm way to ski.

You do have to watch out for the stones and bare spots though. K is about 1 snowstorm away from having most of the mountain open.

Dave
www.geocities.com/tigerskier
