I'll keep it as short and sweet as I can. It was amazing! The base is comparable to that found mid-season. There's thick cover on almost all runs. The exceptions were West Glade, Racer's Edge, Highline, and Conclusion. I'm not sure if these trails were open but I didn't have to cross any rope to get to them. All the closed trails I tried had thin cover although some were deceivingly thick up top (I was praying my demos wouldn't get damaged). Great Northern, East Glade, East Fall, Rime, Bunny Buster, Cascade, etc. all had very thick cover; even when scraped up late Sunday. East Fall developed some bad moguls (sharp, high, ice walls and deep, frozen gullies) but Cascade was just incredible! I don't know if the gated opening or the double diamonds scared people off but Cascade had great snow, the moguls were well cut, and almost no one was skiing it. Overall, crowds weren't too bad and I only saw ice and frozen snow late on Sunday. They're supposed to open up more beginner areas next weekend and that should draw away some of the crowding off these trails.

Almost forgot the best part. while the open terrain park is a joke with one pathetic jump and some rails (I don't care for rails so I can't evaluate them), the regular trails had amazing terrain. I could find jumps almost every 10 feet! The only downside is my neck and back were killing me this morning (thank goodness for Mobic).
