They were reporting 2-4" at 7:30 am, and there was at least that when I got there around noon, and still squalling. There had been steady light to moderate rain almost all the way up and I was getting worried but damn if it didn't turn to winter at the top of the Kmart access road (from about 2K' up).
The wind had moved the snow around a bit so it was a good 6+" in the troughs of the moguls and even deeper where it had blown to skiers right of Superstar. It was the slightly wet n' sticky kind but by gawd it was powder! Not many people there so was able to score numerous first tracks. The subsurface on Superstar was icy at the top and progressively softer further down. Even formerly bare ground in the area was skiable if you chose the line carefully!
Nice treat, a lift-served powder day on May 15th... and they say there could be a little more snow this weekend! Crazy season.
