I missed KOD on Sunday so I bagged work Monday and headed to K-Mart. When I drove into the lot the cloud line was below the top of East Fall so I knew that all of Rime was in the clouds. The lift ticket cost $25. Rime and Upper East Glade were the only options. The guns were blasting on all the open terrain so the fog, wind, snow flurries and guns made visibility very limited. It was ski a hundred yards, stop to wipe the goggles, ski a hundred yards, stop to wipe the goggles, etc. Often it was braille skiing when the wind blasted the man made straight up the trail. Conditions were very nice with soft man made powder side to side. I even saw people in the woods between Rime and East Glade because the wind blew lots of man made into the woods. Lots of bumps and hits formed on the skiers right of Rime after the East Glade merge. At around noon they started shutting down the guns. By one o'clock all of the guns were off and the visibility was much better but my legs were starting to feel the effects of six months off of snow. By two o'clock, the legs wouldn't cooperate any longer. The down load was long and cold but well worth the trip. There was a fair amount of people but no lift line all day. I did see a few near collisions on the lower part of Rime.
