When we got there we went to the Outspot Nightback for some pizza. They are charging $30 for a season pass, $45 if you didn't have one last year.

Got up bright and early Saturday and made it to the lift (not really, on the trail about 12). You had to ride up the Gondola, then ride in the back of a pick up to the glades, where Rime and East Glade were open. By the time we got to the trails, they were pretty scraped off in the center, but were nice and soft along the edges. And in my opinion, the edges were the
safest place to ride due to the number of people bombing down the center. The lift line was about 5-10 mins and the weather was clear and about 40-45F in the glades area.

Went to the KBL bar after skiing. It is under construction and looks like it will be alot bigger. Next, we went to the Basin ski shop. One in our group wanted new boots. She got unbelievable service by the boot fitter. He spent about 1.5 hours with her and found the right fit. I don't know the model, but they are Head, last years, with custom footbed. Another got X-Screams 9 size 169. Those look like hot skis.

Skiing on Sunday was way better. The snow guns had been on for awhile and stayed on the whole day. This made for some cottage cheese soft bumps. The surface on both Rime and East Glade was consistently inconsistent, with alot of soft snow. The lift line grew to about 15 mins at about 12 noon. By 230 the line was down to 3-5 mins. Killington was also making snow on Rams Head. There also was what looked like training for evacuating a lift going on at Rams Head.

After another sit at the almost empty Mahogany Ridge, with the snow falling, Killington gave us tootsie rolls as we left for the parking lot.
The snow on the truck lasted through a stop at the long trail and almost to Boston.

One more thing, we bought a parking spot at KBL. There are 30 spots in the top bay next to the K-1 which will be reserved until noon. The pass is good for two cars, but only one spot. We bought spot #25, I don't know if that means there are (were) 5 left or not.

Garry
