Got to the mountain around 830am this morning and grabbed one of the last
parking spots at KBL before staff started routing people down to Rams Head
and Snowshed for more parking. It was a great day, and there was not a
hint of November anywhere...more like late April. Temps were in the mid
40's when we left Albany this morning, dropped to around freezing around
Glens Falls and anywhere between there and Rutland, then rose to around 50
at the KBL. Some inversion as the valleys were a good 15-20 degrees cooler
then up at the KBL.
Started out on the K1 which had no line at that point in the morning, but
for the rest of the day had what looked to be about a 5-10 min wait. Skied
everything open today pretty much. Least crowded trails were far skiers
left on Snowdon...did a few runs down North Star which was natural snow
with some small bumps and never saw another soul. It was a different story
on trails like East Fall and Cascade which could get crazy with people all
over the place. Both of those trails were very well covered though.
Downdraft and Flume were both open on natural and by mid afternoon both had
tons of brown spots showing up with rocks and roots, ect. Anything off the
Glades Triple was very well covered from snowmaking.

Best run of the day was a Skylark/Bittersweet combo they had open off the
Superstar quad. Hero bumps galore, though it could get crowded at times.
It was still the best top to bottom for excitement and coverage and snow
consistency.

Trails were a bit crowded but lift lines were almost non-exsistent most of
the day(meaning 5 min or less), with the exception of the K1 gondi.

Great way to start my season...
