At my place just down the road, I had about 5" in my driveway and it was sleeting. I parked right next to the K1 gondola and walked over. It was running but the lifties said they weren't going to load it since the top of the mountain "was a sheet of ice". I skied down to the Snowdon quad and jumped on an ice-crusted chair. At the top of Snowdon, there was about 6" of snow with a thick crust on top. I decided to ski Bunny Buster to have some width in case I needed to do some traversing. It was wildly difficult skiing and even with fat skis, I kept breaking through the crust on every turn. My right knee is still a little dodgy so I decided to just ski the trail in linked wedge turns rather than risk trashing a knee for the 3rd time this season. In 20 years at Killington, I can't remember ever having to resort to this technique (or lack of technique). At the bottom of the Poma, I hit a groomed track and had an uneventful ski out back to the Killington Base Lodge. When I walked in, there were about 20 locals sitting there completely dry. They all got a huge laugh after I announced that Bunny Buster was a double black today.
