I'm looking out my window at the Evril Kmart. Yesterday morning, the ground in the woods was white. This morning, it's brown and what's left is frozen rock-hard. The cover on the mountain is typical April 15. I skied a lot of natural snow trails yesterday that are now done for the year unless it reverts to winter. I had excellent skiing on Flume under the old K double liftline, Conclusion under the Snowdon triple, Pipe Dream under the Southridge Triple, Northstar and Great Bear on Snowdon. It's too early for it to end and I'm bumming. This is worse than being a Red Sox fan during the typical August swoon.

I skiied on Sunday, and I was very disappointed in <BR> what the staff idd at Killington in not preparing the trails for skiers. We had to wait for over one half hour in line before they would let us start our day, in which they cited the conditions were hard ice/boiler plate, in which they were correct. BUT, I knew the conditions were coming since watching the weather eport for days and seeing that it would be in the 50's/60's on Saturday and then also, rain through the night and then the temperature would drop below freezing. It doesn't take much to determine that the snow conditions would be HARD. Also, there were not many cats out grooming to resolve this issue, so we had to wait, and there was a long delay in opening several lifts/trails. This was not the Killington I expected when I arrived Sunday at 7:30am. I expected the whole place to be groomed and things to be ready. I will certainly take a long hard look at this before I purchase more Etickets for next season!

Dea, sometimes they have to wait for the snow to "set up" before they could groom it. The front did not pass through until about 2-3AM. I'm sure that it if it had passed through a few hours earlier, then they could have starting the necessary brutal grooming earlier as well.

make all the excuses you want. killington just plain old sucks. the only time worth skiing it is before thanksgiving and after easter. i feel sorry for all the suckers out there who continue to give that place 60+ dollars a day.
