Meanwhile down here at snowriding's backwater, things are going very well, thank you. We have entered into an a outstanding late winter storm cycle that is just beyond belief. We have received 22" in the last 24 hours and 39" in the last two days. The snow depth at the (6300' base) West Village Lodge is 160" and we have had a total of 427" so far and it's still pounding. Some were saying today was the best snow of the season.

Bachelor is having an excellent year, catching the northern edge of Sierra storms when Washington and Whistler were hurting, but still getting it now with the northern storm track.

Just another routine 4th of July season in the pre-Powdr days. :(

True that! Last year we could have run the Summit chair through August or beyond and skied top to bottom. We do have the US Nordic squad coming in early June and there should be adequate snow still at the Nordic Center to ski on. They arrange to have the trails groomed much to the displeasure of the ski area honchos as the land is leased and there is a special permit issued by the USFS.
Normally the nordic trails close in mid-April, often with 10-12 feet of snow on the ground with awesome weather. :bs:

Today's update: another 5" overnight, still snowing, I'm at work but have a board meeting for tomorrow and the top might open...
