Much like the day before at Sunshine: intermittent sunshine, high temp somewhere around the mid teens, and 2-4 inches of dust on ... a soft, packed-powder base, on all aspects (including the south-facing Ptarmigan area) and at all elevations (right down to the front-side base). There was plenty of ankle-deep untracked snow to be found in the tree islands and on some of the further-out chutes and back bowls. Coverage is excellent and the Whitehorn and Paradise chutes are almost ridiculously filled in.
In the morning, we did a couple of laps off of the summit platter where my daughter and I worked on powder skills in the single-black diamond trails adjacent to Boomerang: Upper Boomerang, Little Pipestone, Shoulder Roll, and Brown Shirt.
After lunch at Temple Lodge, we skied several runs off Larch where we worked on our bump technique.
While it was mostly sunny on the backside all day, it was cloudy with flurries on the front side most of the day. We had to work hard to find any of the usual ice on the front side.
