Hard and fast was the rule of the day, especially down low where some rain has fallen in recent days. Most of the mountain was open, but Le Charlevoix (the new alpine training run) was closed for team training, and La 42 - even in its new, bastardized form - too was closed.

Le Sous-Bois, l'Archipelago and other more "natural" runs are still very brushy, thanks to the fact that only +/- 90" of snow has fallen this season. L'Archipelago is a delightful run, however, relatively low-angle in the drainage between the main mountain and Cap Maillard and comprised of islands of trees separated by narrow lines.

The only true highlight of the day, snow-wise, was an off-piste venture into a place that won't be described here (!) that yielded boot-top freshies within tight woods.

Look for an updated resort feature on Le Massif to follow soon at FTO.
