twas pretty much as guido and frank descibed. This is one spectacullarly beautiful place that you should see before the resorts go in. There is a LOT of vertical. No new snow. The sous bois was open & is not a double diamond .Best snow was on the Tremblant. Having not skied in the east for about 5 years i'd forgetten about the ICE. Ungroomed signs often mean ICE as opposed to powder. I'm glad i did it but from london ont its easier to fly to Fernie Than drive to the Charlevoix. But the digital pictures are incredible.

Ish... ice at Massif, it's not an usual thing. I have many bad comments about the mountain, but I can't say nothing about the snow conditions.

Last week, the new owner said that the resort would TRIPLE its size by few years. That should be great, as now, there is nothing really interesting that we could lose, after 42's destruction...

just a little thing... if you have some great digital pic, feel free to post them, it's always great to see

I second Frankontour's call for photos. Images do wonders to share tyour experiences with everyone else. Including them in a post is quite easy -- you'll find instructions for doing so in the menu in the blue frame to the left. Note that you may need to resize/recompress the JPEGs to get them under our 40 kb limit.

Just a little thing about the ice... generally, it's fastly icy in the big ski areas here... but in the smaller ones, powder stays much more time !! I could talk of Alta, Shefford and Glen near Montreal, but in the farther regions, there is really nice powder areas... just like Mt Grand Fonds near Le Massif. I'm sure they had lot of powder even if there was ice at Massif... It's sure that you don't come in Qc for some 1100' high ski areas, but on a multiday-trip, it could be really interesting !

Little pic of Mt Grand-Fonds... nice steep ski area.
