Damn, Patrick! Do you want a job in A-Basin's marketing department? They haven't even issued a news release yet!

You know me Marc, I would do anything to get out of my cubical life and go skiing.

Okay, maybe not marketing.

thanks Patrick ! I used to check them out in late september, but I thought they were still in some warm temperatures these days so I've completely missed their preparation me too...

I skied there last year in October, midweek. It was good, a good beginning. It was intermediate also, not horrible snow, a lot of natural. A lot of race teams were around trying to get going on practice courses. The next day A-Basin opened, not bad either, then Copper which we did not go to (all near by in Colorado). I got a deal on http://www.hotwire.com for 500.00 which was a non-stop ticket round trip from L.A. to Denver, car rental and 3 nights at the Sheraton Tech center in outer Denver for only 500.00 tax included. I met another patroller there and we had a blast. The hotel was nice and delightfully empty as were the ski areas. I did not want to see the place packed, ever.

I found this: http://www.weather.com/activities/recre ... stuff.html for those ski people who want to find the best snow in the US after storms.

I may be sitting out the season and only doing cross country to to a knee injury this fall, not ski related. I was the third to fall on a newly laquered floor. I am healing slowly, as sprains always do at any age. My attitude about it all needs a lot of healing as a frustrated skier, however. :) Poor me, pour me, pour me some snow from above for cross country this season on flat trails, easy on the knee, good for the soul! Carol Responding to Patrick!
