wednesday and thurs morning at loon: right now loon is in the best shape i have seen it in quite a while, ( we will qualify this report with the diclaimer that the upcoming holiday madness will inevitably inflict substantial carnage to the conditions at the local hill in lincoln nh. ) ...black goomers are pretty much all pp with spots of scratch... blacks off the double and lower flume bumps ( recently reseeded and reset) are in decent shape with the usual scratch in the trough from lines taken by most skiers ( ski the line within the line and u r all set ) ... every tree line at loon ( marked and unmarked ) has coverage from good ( at the bottom of mountain ) to great w/ powder shots ( up the top off the triple ).. the bump run under the quad is in the best shape i have ever seen with the " mini bumps " ( as they were described here a while ago ) not so mini anymore... but being on the pitch they are on, they are a joy to ski and get some work done on... ( by the way, to nat the gm at cannon and all the other gm's who claim they cannot give up a blue run to moguls, i have seen more people skiing the line under the quad hootin and hollerin and having a good time in the bumps than i have ever seen in a $50,000 to $100,000 halfpipe midweek, even if they really didn't know what they were doing, ) if you can just force yourself to ski out of the trough line , you are turning on legit powder, front and backside...blue groomers are fine unitl about 12p when the loonatics have the large spots of scratch exposed , but that is to be expected... guns were blazing on walking b and flume as i left town on thurs morn. unforeseen circumstances/family obligations put me out of action for probably the next 4 weeks... enjoy the snow folks
