loon is running the gondy and north triple only... the snow was typical spring... hard till about 11 and softened right up... bumps on top of sunset were excellent... bumps in the flume were really big and some massive ruts appeared...the place was jammed w/ mass holiday skiers and a full lot and long lines at the gondy made for a real pain...they are still 100% skiable ( as opposed to 100% opened and buddy gil and i made 6 hike/runs under the quad bump run after 4pm till a snotty british "ski ambassador" employee ( i thought the term goodwill was usually associated with ambassador ), threatened to call the local constabulary and have us arrested for trepassing if we did not vacate the premises!!!!! no lie!!!! i found her threat to be dubious at best since loon is leased public land but nonetheless we bailed after a few choice words were aimed at the snotty bit, ahhhh forget it!!!! they could have and should have run the quad but it's all about the money stupid!!!!... i guess...they are closing on sunday the 22nd <BR> wildcat on tuesday was killer... the place still does not have 1 unskiable line... by 12 the snow on the lower 80% of the hill was soft and corn... the top part of starr line and gondy line was still tricky and rock hard... the day featured what appeared to be clouds at around 10000 feet so they really did not allow the sun to do it'sthing fully and no real mush resulted even at the end at the base... information obtained from management revealed they will be determining the date based on traffic this week... the quote was 95% positive daily for may 1st and 80% positive daily for may 6th to wrap it up... please , if you are on the east side of 93 support the cat and go... prices are still full , but they are really 100% open...best bumps skied all year!!!! the forest is also 100% open
