Mrs. Ondeadlin has business in Denver Monday and flew in late Saturday night to grab a day at Loveland.
Arriving around 10 a.m., she got four quick runs in and reports light skier traffic and very nice early season conditions. A little chunky, but not much ice. High winds at the top of lift two appear to have blown off much of the snow from the last few days. "Feels like more than six percent of the mountain is open," she reports. "Plenty of terrain for a good early season day."
A lot of grooming activity on the closed sections of the mountain and said it looks like they could already open triple the territory if they wanted to. Very tempting to sample a closed section or two on the sly, but she's too Midwestern to give in to that temptation.
Light snow falling as of 12:30 p.m. local time.
She planned on hitting it for two more hours, then heading back to Boulder.
Her summation: All in all, very worth it, and a good motivation to hit the conditioning a little harder.
