After shovelling, I hopped on The Double for trail
checks. Partridge was a bit tricky. Slalom Hill was sweet with the 1-2" of new and coverage was at its best of the season thus far. We did some bamboo work down below and then I headed up for more. The steeeep Gazelle Headwall was sweeet.
On-trail conditions were outstanding packed powder, especially on the upper mountain. There was a bit of ice on the lower part due to some light rain below the 2000 foot elevation on Friday. All trails were open, including Creamery which was opened late. Great skiing with patches of knee to thigh deep were found. Late in the
day, I was given the directive to shut it down - why? I dunno. In the afternoon, I ran into Roger of the Roger-Wes-Jumpin' Jimmy Triumvirate and we decided to follow Dylan down some woods off of
the Double. Still sketchy, but we are getting close. Golfing has been done with a bit of crust near the bottom.
For sweep, I bought another one of our candidates down Chute, using the left jug handle and finding great snow and coverage. Finished with Ferret and Lower Glade, finding some scratchy
hardpack near the bottom of the latter.
Today, it was back to trail check off of The Double Some light snow fell.
For sweep, great conditions were found on Quacky III. For the weekend, outstanding packed powder was found everywhere - about as good as one could expect for PP!
