The heavy sleet was nice enough to hold off until we were finished skiing... and what skiing it was!

Arrived at "the crack of ten o'clock", secured Denis' shareholder Mad Money and my Mad Card and suited up Conor for his second day on skis. Kathleen and Denis tugged him up the little slope next to the new handle tow and skied down several times while dad pulled kid duties with Patrick in the basebox. The kid is hooked on skiing, and even got a ride up the Practice Slope chair, though he spooked at the top and Kathleen toted him down to the bottom in her arms.

Once Conor was through, Denis and Kathleen got a classic Catamount/Lynx run, reporting soft snow and roughly total cover.

Ski day seven in a row for Denis spelled an early end of the day for him and he graciously took over kid duties. Kathleen and I hit the bumped up but soft and silky Fall Line, reloading at mid-station, and then hitting a prime Paradise and the perfect training bumps on Canyon. Finished up with Catamount to Lynx as the wind rolled in and the sleet began in earnest.

Some very nice renovations at MRG, including an improved ticket office and several other minor sprucing up touches. Good crowd, but short lift lines, roughly zero for the double. Met up in the morning with a friend who reported soft and forgiving snow, with some grabby spots.

We'll have to see what the trail count carnage is like on Monday, but suffice it to say that MRG won't be able to bounce back with a heavy bout of snow making like most other areas. Still, the top to bottom coverage and snow depths were impressive, and 2 more 6" storms this week might spell a decent holiday weekend for them.

Low 50s with rain, sometimes heavy, in Burlington today. The 5" of snow cover in town is completely gone.
