(Note from the Administrator: This report was originally posted on 2/1/00. Due to our move to new servers, the date and time attributed to this post is incorrect.)

Day after a powder day.

An inch or so of new snow at the start with constant flurries all day. A serious snow squall started about 2 PM and tapered off around 3:30 PM. 1" per hour stuff for a while. I brushed 3 inches of snow off my car when I left :) :)

This is what mid-winter should be like. Another dump and the deck outside the patrol shack outside the double will be level with the base depth.

Off piste is there.

On piste, you can crank a few select corners really tight and be up to your knees in powder. The valleys may have been flirting with the freezing mark, but the mountains still have dry snow.

Everywhere on the mountain was wonderful. Mad River groomed and base leveled the intermediates such as Quacky/Porky/etc. as well as all the easy. The Blue Square squad folk had wider smiles than any of the groovy-Uvee black square folk.

Ski here now.
