(Note from the Administrator: This report was originally posted on 2/24/00. Chute and Catamount are lots
of fun. There are lots of families on the hill skiing down the groomed easy and intermediate trails. People are smiling and ripping it up on the Chute.

The less good: It didn't freeze up last night. There is Rotten Snow. Forget about untracked terrain. The lower mountain bump trails have become too soft - you are skiing through the bumps instead of on them. So, the patrol has closed (until things cool back down) - Lynx/Beaver, Glade, Lift Line, L.A., Peri Bowl. Still open: Upper Canyon (above Bunny) and Slalom hill.

My reading of the long range maps (with a skier's optimism) says that we have another week perhaps before the NAO, NCEP, Joe Bastardi, <insert buzzword here>, etc. say we return to winter part II - also known as the beeg dump before the MRG telemark festival (March 11/12).
