Grabbed a beer at the Hyde Away on Friday night where I swear some people were still celebrating the Supibowl.
Next morning, a whole 1/4" fell and the Chute had indeed been groomed below and above the ledges. That left us Patrollers to stomp on the ledges to break up the death crust which we barely did. Conditions were fast on the hardpack
with the most delightful skiing occuring where the 1/4" had drifted in to a depth of maybe a 1/2". The great pack powder of the early season is now a distant memory. But conditions were still superior to what one would find on
the Porcelain Pastures of Frozen McDung.
Skies were bright and blue and air was fresh and cold and we do have a great base waiting for the candy to fall from above ..... but then again, I said that last weekend. Oh well, it's an outdoor sport and I bought into it and waiting for the snow is part of the game.
