Told the Boss on Wednesday that I'd likely be out Friday morning. I was pretty sure this storm was gonna be a good one.

Took my time getting to the mountain this morning. Hinesburg and Huntington hadn't done a great job plowing and it was slippery. Going up over the Gap I passed 4 people digging their cars out of the banks they had just plowed into. Slowly but surely I made it there without incident.

There was a line on the single and I was under a time constraint. I let the Vert. Challenge competitors have the single for a little while and went to the double - it was loading earlier, anyway. :P

First tracks down through the Bands and into Porcubunny. Anything that didn't have pitch (the lower section of porcubunny) had to be straightlined. The snow was too thick. Anything with pitch provided face shots, whoops, and hollars.

Hopped into the "line" for the single and headed up to the top. Ran into Dave (no idea of his last name, I know he's a shareholder.) who I have skied with in the past. He wanted to ski the 20th. *shrug* OK!

Slogged through the toboggan run in. We were breaking trail! Coasted down the main line through *TONS* of untracked. I've never skied that line in that condition. I even ended up skiing down the riverbed for a few turns! I didn't even realize that's where I was!! The slog out was slow and painful, but we were smiling almost all the way.

Ran into Todd in line for the single and felt generous enough to wait the 10 chairs or so at the top. Took a run down "Grandfather" (which I have always called Upper Fall-Dice) and found some nice stuff.

Todd and I blitzed off for my last two runs on the double. Powder powder powder. On our last ride up, Todd noticed that the sign at the top of Gazelle was at snow level. Another 6 inches and it would be completely buried.

These _ARE_ THE BEST of times. I don't feel bad for missing the blizzard anymore.
