Due to our move to new servers, the date and time attributed to this post is incorrect.)</I> <BR> <BR>After a day on Mt Washington, I headed towards MRG that night, stopping at the Mad River Barn for the Patrollers Party. Since I got up at 4:30AM that <BR>morning, I didn't last toooo long. <BR>The mountain opened at 9:00 AM and Penny Parsons felt so bad for me getting my arse handed to me the prior week, she took it upon herself to <BR>teach me snowplowing on our first run down Fox/Quacky/Bunny. It was arduous, but I am slowly getting the hang of it. Quacky was barely hanging <BR>in there with cover and we questioned whether or not it should remain opened. "Well, by the time we're done bantering about it, the Double will have shut down anyway" I chirped (The Double was scheduled to operate from 9 to 1). <BR>Bunny was thin with bumps and after my training, I headed up the Single and was assigned to check Upper Antelope and Moody's. Once below the <BR>midstation, the only way down was Broadway/ Bunny. As the time approached Noon, I was hungry, but Penny grabbed me to take it upon herself to give me <BR>toboggan training. <BR>It was decided to close The Double at Noon for the season, so we were assigned to close things down. After the lift stopped, eeriness descended upon the bunch of us and we became very sad. The sled training took hold as I started to improve under Penny's tutelage. <BR>I was becoming weary as the afternoon wore on. Conditions were not exactly compelling and it was getting depressing knowing that this day was to be the last one (other than a planned afternoon opening on April 1 - maybe). Fall Line was crunchy due to the falling temps and occaisionally, a snowflake appeared. <BR>Catamount Bowl had some nice bumps after negotiating the Cantelope chute - the headwall was bare and closed. Last run on sweep was Catamount Bowl. <BR>Very sad ..... very sad as we took down a lot of bamboo and miscellaneous items. Very s a d ... it's ending way too soon ...... s a d ...
