My head was (is) still reeling from the weekend flu attack. Coughing up phlegm, upset stomach, weakness in the large muscles.

But the pull of the mountains was too strong to ignore.

MRG parking lot, 9:54 AM Tuesday. Five cars, 8 people, 75 degrees.

MRG summit, 10:10 AM. Breezy, cooler, 5 feet of snow at their stake.

We scoured the mountain, looking for fun. We found plenty. Twice down Chute, couple times down Upper Antelope. Once down Glade, Catamount, Canyon, and Lynx/Beaver. A full Liftline. A rare Liftline/Beaver/Glade-stream-bed combo. Something they tell me is called "Grandfathers," although it looked like a Falldice to me (and looked nothing like it did Saturday). Even threw in a Pocubunny woods run. Capped it all off with a final run down Paradise through cold rain and fog.

Cover was top to bottom but not quite wall to wall. Most annoying bare spot was the 30 feet or so of trail gone missing just above the Paradise waterfall. Made for an interesting entrance.

Speaking of waterfalls, they were in abundance. The mountain seems even meaner when it is awash with spring runoff.

Good news was that about half the customers had bought day tickets. Bad news was only about 20 customers.
