Mammoth was unbelievable this past weekend, and is still getting snow. The entire mountain opens tomorrow.
For the three days I skied, I only took Chairs 1 and 2. On Saturday, I pretty much only skied Gravy Chute and its variants, as Roger's was closed. After 2 feet of light snow overnight, I got 2nd tracks and I was in a cloud of snow the whole time. Unfortunately, it was complete white out and the GoPro frosted over, so no video from Saturday. I continued skiing Gravy Chute for a few hours until it was totally tracked, and then went home as nothing else was really steep enough to ski.
Sunday was even better. About 2.5 feet of snow fell overnight and it was even lighter than the previous day. I once again got 2nd tracks on Gravy Chute and it was unbelievable. I only skied until about 10:00am, as Broadway was shut down then due to the crazy winds. Nevertheless, I still got plenty of good runs in. Here's a video from Sunday:

Monday was also incredible. It snowed another 1.5 feet overnight and the snow was incredibly light for any time of the year at Mammoth. It was also really windy and cold. The wind was blowing straight at Stump Alley and the lift was barely able to move. Needless to say, lift rides were not pleasant. After starting on Gravy Chute once again, I moved over to Roger's and the Bear. I set off a small avalanche on my first trip into the Bear, so I tried to take it easy after that. Here's the video from Monday:

I much prefer Vimeo, but I can't upload another HD video until Thursday.
Finally, there are still plenty of rocks out there. Amazingly, I didn't get any core shots (I'll attribute that to the durability of the Praxis' bases), but my edges are in very rough shape.
