Epic conditions every day. Thursday featured no crowds and first tracks on Gravy, The Bear, and Chairs 5 and 3. The powder was really nice and light, but a few windblown spots remained since it was so windy on Wednesday. On Friday, I went to June and found zero crowds and extremely deep powder. Somewhere between waist and chest deep, and nice and light. The Face and the sidecountry were the only runs steep enough. Saturday was back to Mammoth and the President's Weekend crowds were huge. I waited 1.5 hours for 22 to load in the morning, but it was definitely worth it. Slightly heavier snow but absolutely no wind-effect. I also got first chair on 5, but the terrain there was barely steep enough to make turns.
Sunday was bluebird, so the crowds were ridiculous. I managed to get about the 7th gondola around 9:30 and got a great run down the Paranoids. I followed that up with a Head Chutes run, which was in the best condition I have ever witnessed. After a few laps on Dragon's Tail, I couldn't deal with the crowds any more, so I went back to Claremont. All in all, some of the best skiing of my life.
Here's the 2nd POV I made from the storm:
