Third day in a row for me. Tomorrow I'm going climbing briefly before working all night. It's gonna be one of those weeks where I am glad to go back to work because I need the rest.
Today I tagged along on a Colorado Mountain Club trip up Mammoth Gulch (just west of Rollinsville and just East of Rollins Pass). We did 7 or 8 miles total and myself and my 2 friends were the only ones on downhill/touring gear (ie big skins and heavy equipment). We got whooped. There was some pretty good downhill coming off the top of Nebraska Hill, but I was too excited to get pictures.
The snow was pretty good. Probably 3-4 inches of fresh. Tons of depth hoar and other irregularities in the snow pack. I was super glad we didn't ski anything steeper than 20 degrees.
