Mammoth November Park Edit Video

Now that they have chair 2, it looks like Mammoth's recent snowmaking efforts are to build up the park some before moving on to Gold Rush and the Canyon side of the mountain.

With the 16 inches of snow we just recieved over the last 48 hours, they have been blowing snow on easy rider and solitude. Heard from higher-ups that they plan on getting the canyon side of the mountain open as soon as possible, most likely by next weekend.

I saw that report today too (both the 16 inches and the Easy Rider/Solitude snowmaking). That storm was way more than predicted. Enough to reopen any upper mountain besides Cornice?

Nope, only cornice is open. Top of the mountain didn't retain much snow from this storm as the upper mountain was very windy for most of the storm event.

Snowman has another one of his detailed reports up from yesterday http://www.mammothsnowman.com/ . Confirms above impression. Consensus on Mammoth Forum is that 10 and 5 will open this weekend, with 4 to follow shortly after. If a possible storm pans out next week Canyon would open then, hopefully along with more of the upper mountain. No new snow, Canyon is at least 2 weeks away from opening.

We are headed up this weekend but may have to return after the next storm (let's just hope there is a big storm soon!!!).
