The Midwest is doing very good for early season snow fall. The Lake Effect Snows (LES) are really piling up in the UP of Michigan, and North West Lower Michigan, and South West Lower Michigan.

"A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST
TUESDAY.

LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS...HEAVY AT TIMES...WILL PRODUCE TOTAL
ACCUMULATIONS OF 10 TO 18 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY GREATER AMOUNTS
POSSIBLE EAST OF LITTLE TRAVERSE BAY...BY TUESDAY EVENING."

Places like Boyne Highlands, Nubs Nob, Boyne Mt in North West Lower Michigan should be looking really nice.

THE KEWEENAW PENINSULA in the UP Will also be looking at great early snows. Mount Bohemia will have a great start!

Closer to my home, our local old garbage dumps (150 Vertical Feet) have a few runs open, Mt Brighton, Alpine, Mt Holly.

I just received a DVD from Mt. Bohemia. They are really pushing the college party town near the hill.

I must say it's a funny DVD, and has some good looking girls in it. It also has some great video shots of the backcountry skiing. I think you can join the mail list, and they will send you a DVD!

The area is simply beautiful UP there. 2 Sites you must visit if you plan to try Mt. Bohemia is

Thanks Mike! I have been up there, but it was in the late summer on a salmon fishing trip. Hung out on the Big Iron river and caught Chinook salmon. Also spent time in the Porcupine National Forest. Gorgeous area.

I went to the johndee site and was amazed that one of the sponsors is the Hiawatha Motor Inn in Eagle River, WI. Another site of summer fishing madness, this time a Musky hunting trip. Great place!
