Valhalla seems to be the one place with a good reputation that you can get just a month or two so ahead. I reserved Feb. 27-28 and also took their lodging package for 3 nights as we'll be at Whitewater the next day.

A couple of you know about this. Maybe a few others noticed we skied at Wild Horse Feb. 27 and Whitewater Feb. 28 and wondered what happened with Valhalla. A couple of weeks later admin said feel free to put it online, but I thought to wait awhile in case there was a resolution, and I figured "booking season" in the fall would be more timely. After a "Powder Highway" proposed road trip thread grew to 4 pages on Epic, I decided now was the time.
If you have some spare  time, here it is: http://www.epicski.com/t/121383/mixup-o ... -requested

Didn't have the time to even skim all the responses, however one thing everyone should keep in mind - there is no inherent or explicit guarantee that email will ever be properly delivered. Generally it's pretty robust and reliable, but there are a lot of variables at work, not all of them recoverable.

Fun reading the thread on Epic on a slow day at work. I think I'm the fellow poster who had a great experience there. I was curious so I dug through my email and didn't have any correspondence with them and now remember doing it all on the phone and never received an email confirmation. Guess I got lucky that nothing bad happened as it was my first day cat skiing and I'd have been really bummed.

Interesting they didn't make any better concessions for you, they clearly seemed to get the publicity they get from bloggers. The day we were there, http://www.catskiing.ca/ was there. They're just a group of guys who made a site and go cat skiing (free I believe) and post about it. Nice guys but their setting up for shooting video/photos did take some time and probably cost us a run in the end.

I suspect you'll be there at some point and make things right, somehow.

One more piece of evidence that there are some "loose ends" in their office, along with the "Thank You for Skiing with Us" e-mail I received in May. I wish it had gone that way with me, since I would have followed up because I always like to have a printed confirmation. What I had was this:
ValhallaReceipt.JPG

Which in retrospect was not a confirmation because it was before I sent the credit card info.

If I'm up in B.C. with someone who really wants to go there, I'd probably tag along. Making another reservation in my own name is probably not a great idea after all of this. Valhalla has minimal inclination to "make things right" because they don't admit they did anything wrong. I have learned MarcC's lesson about hard confirmation after e-mail exchanges.
