After a great day at Berthoud Steve and I decided to give Monarch Pass another go as they have received 20 plus inches in the past week. Even with the high amount of use (dripping with sarcasm) that Monarch gets we found plenty of good snow.
After doing a wet heavy snow drop we skinned on up to Mt Peck. As we were skinning up a small group dropped into the bowl on Mount Peck. Hereby refered to as Pecker Bowl. It's been avy prone all season, so maybe this was our chance to do it.
Bucky found something to chase on the skin up. His head is buried looking for it.
A look at the bowl from the skin track.
The people who dropped before us, did us a favor by digging a pit. We were able to make a quick evaluation and it was a go.
Steve had a pretty good time.
I thought it was okay (dripping with sarcasm again...)
A look back at our lines.
We then skinned back out to the radio tower bowl. Evan got his turn.
I thought it was great too.
We got a few more turns on a lower ridge.
Evan making tele look kewl.
Steve bouncing around like a fool.
A look at our lines down the Radio tower bowl
We skinned out and did the drop to the highway. The snow got very heavy and wet towards the bottom. I had to pull with my legs as hard as I could to make turns. Spring has sprung. It was another fine day.
