just a quick one here.

did 3 laps on the Headwaters yesterday. that's where the best snow was.
i searched some trees and did find some fresh, but it was very low in
coverage. ride cautiously. two lines down the Headwaters were open,
but one of the lines (Alder Gulch) was all windblown crust. the other line
(Headwaters Bowl) had some crust on it, but also a lot of pockets of
redepositted windblown pow for most of the way. Patrol is looking to
open a couple more lines on the Headwaters real soon. within days.
some pretty burley lines though. they will be Three Forks 1 and 2 for half
the run(then you get cliffed out). then a short traverse over some rocks.
you'll have to hike this little section (don't slip!). and then over to
Whitetail for the remainer of the run. Whitetail looks like a really long
chute (~30yrds) and about 15' wide(if that) due to the lack of coverage
right now. it still looks ridable though. that's why i had asked if they
were planning to open those two lines. he said, "i'm way ahead of you. if
it were up to me, i'd be up there today doing control". sick!

the down side: it's about a solid hour hike way over to Three Forks. oh well.
