Yesterday was a "Board Meeting" day as I treated my customer Matt Wilson to a day on the hill. He mostly backcountry skis and likes to sno-mo a lot as well. It wasn't difficult to persuade him to join me after over 8" fell overnight.
There were still only two lifts open here at Bachelor but the place is really starting to look like a ski area. Tomorrow they'll open the Sunrise Lodge, Sunrise Lift and also the Skyliner Lift. We've had over a foot of natural snowfall this week, not a lot by Cascadian standards, but fantastic so far for this season! We got in some fun powder runs and were able to hit lines that would have been reefs last weekend.
I'm thinking our "slightly favored" La Nina status is starting to show. The brunt of the storms seem to be hitting just to the north of us (like at Mt Hood) but we still get some. We have very good preservation here so come out OK in the end.
