Mt Bachelor 11/30 Wind Sift

The storm cleared out and was replaced by a steady east wind, and there was some transport. So I went looking for the leeward aspects and was rewarded. We had some lovely wind sift and even yesterday's cut up powder fields were smoothed out and very rideable. The coverage is outstanding and I haven't hit a rock yet. Best opening weekend I can remember.

So how close are they to opening Summit or Northwest? In terms of coverage, I'm sure plenty of Summit is skiable. But it could be control work, it can always be wind, and of course it could be that Powdr Corp doesn't want to expend the effort until it's closer to Christmas.

I don't see either of those lifts opening soon unless we get more feet. Summit's problem is the off loading area which is thin due to wind scouring. One hundred meters below that there's plenty of snow. It'll be Christmas unless we get a lot in the next few weeks.
