Mt Bachelor 12/12/15 Dumping!

My sons are in town for the Dirksen Derby, so Spenny and I got up early to go ride the 7" of dense new that fell overnight. There was a break in between systems so the visibilities were good early and then it started snowing hard. It's busy here with all the powder-starved folks really showing their enthusiasm and over 500 riders for the Derby finals tomorrow added to the lines. Outback Express was due to open today but the wind came with the snow so maybe tomorrow.
After an outstanding morning we left mid-day to go look at a truck he's interested in. My luck ran out as I stopped on a very slippery section of Century Drive going home for an accident and then I got rear-ended. Luckily I was driving my 1998 Subaru "mountain car' instead of my good car but it's still no fun to get hit.
They reported 13" new since 4 PM yesterday and it's supposed to really crank overnight! It's hard to believe we have over 106" of total snowfall and 57" at mid-mountain. Should be good again tomorrow!

Calm before the storm.

Half way down to town and it's just pounding.

Crunch!

Sorry to hear you got hit but glad everyone's ok. Also glad to see you're getting the goods!

Thanks Admin!

While we were exchanging info the offending driver told me she had just moved her family here and that "I had it in four wheel drive"!!!!
I had to explain that was for getting started and not stopping.

Looks like this storm is headed your way. We just got another 14" overnight, still snowing, main power to the mountain down, roads a mess and thousands of hungry skiers are lining up! Be sure to get to Alta early if this comes to LCC.

We're now at 126" snowfall and 71" at mid-mountain. Whew!

Oregon like Utah was bypassed by the November storms; Bachelor got only 31 inches.

That means 95 inches so far in December, impressive. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get Summit and NW open.

Once the adrenaline is done, that's just a huge, deflating sigh kind of moment when you realize the extreme hassle of dealing with the fixes and insurance and etc... Glad everyone is OK.
