Mt. Baldy Christmas Day?

I'm considering going up to Baldy on Christmas Day. Seems that will be good timing relative to the next storm (not my first choice relative to the holiday, but I can celebrate in the evening). Any guesses on how crowded it might be? How about conditions? I'm hearing 6000 ft. level for the snow, which isn't too powdery. (But then it seems even the coldest snow gets densified up on Baldy due to the wind).

Anyone else planning to go to Baldy on Christmas?

Thanks,
Baldyskier

I can't speak for Baldy, but Christmas Day is typically quiet most non-destination places, especially Christmas Morning.

First chair of the New Year is also up there for quiet. Powder day at Tremblant, January 1st 2000, leaving Montreal in storm with only 2-3 hours sleep.

Yesterday's light precipitation was at best mixed. Mt. High reports a dusting and hardpack surface today and "wet packed" yesterday. Mt. Baldy reports 3 inches new but yesterday said the weather was "wet and cloudy." But Christmas will depend more on the results of tomorrow's larger storm. Should be cold enough, but best to check reports tomorrow to be sure there are not similar "wet" references as yesterday. Big Bear reports 3-4 inches new snow and may not have had any rain first.
