Mt. Rainier late June-early July

A friend went skiing with his teenage son to Mt. Rainier for 3 days at the end of June/early July and just sent me his pics. Check out these snowbanks for early July!

Ice Axe Expeditions considered a training session on Rainier for November Antarctic cruise participants. However their understanding is that park regulations there require everyone above 10,000 feet to be roped up. Needless to say that's not an attractive prospect for skiing. People still ski there below 10,000 feet. But as a result Shasta, Adams, Hood etc. are more attractive backcountry ski destinations.
