Got up early enough to drive to Kmart or Sugarbush (all good on the ASC pass) but lo and behold Mt. Snow was reporting just as much, if not more, snow as anyone. Got there about 9:30 (roads pretty bad) just as the snow seemed to be stopping but within the hour a cloud rolled in and it snowed for most of the day! A good honest 6-8" and I found deeper, with some driftage approaching knee deep. The trees were sublime, the firmed up slush of the previous days giving just enough support underneath the new snow. The well travelled trails got scraped fairly quickly but I had untracked powder shots every run without much searching. My shadowy friend Raoul says that some of the roped stuff was great (he's loathe to jump a rope, but does let the trees lead where they may, that rapscallion...). Only drag was a chairlift on the north face that kept breaking down, but with all that powder to hound the delays probably seemed longer than they really were. Great day. Can't count New England out yet...
