The recently rejuvenated cover is holding strong. Some bare spots on the front face, but not too many and not too big. South side (Sunbrook) and Carinthia areas closed for the season, probably as much an economic decision though admittedly the lower Carinthia trails looked a little sparse driving by. Last night was well below freezing but the sun did its thing during the morning. Main face had nice soft spring snow all over. North face was still a bit styrofoam-like in the trees near the top and the upper bumps sported some nasty looking ice in the troughs, but everything softened up once you'd gone about a third of the way down. Mid and lower untracked was fun, firm with a silt-like top layer, but occasionally it would punch deeper so you had to stay ready. Last I checked there was no stated closing date, snow-wise they can go at least until the middle of the month IMO as long as nighttime temps stay low. It's supposed to get colder over the next few days and precip is lurking on the radar so who knows, maybe we'll even get a little more cover....

Oh, to ski weekdays under those robins-egg blue skies! If I keep reading your posts, I'll have to give up the day job.

(Vincent Price voice w/ reverb) Yesss, that's my plan exactly, then we'll be able to meet up to ski more often !! Come, join us......
