Northern Colorado - end of March

Anyone have input to the recent conditions in Northern Colorado? I'm supposed to drive from MN to Vail/Copper for next week (3/29), however with near record-warm weather (66 forecasted today!), no recent snowfall, and possible rain this week and next I'm wondering if it wouldn't be a better choice to head elsewhere, even it means eating the $80 for the 4 day pass bought back in November (it's a lot easier to make back $80 than it is 5 vacation days...) Utah looks more promising with base numbers around 80-100+" compared to the 40-45 around Vail. Thoughts, anyone? Any help is much appreciated!

I'm bound for Summit County Apr 4-11 for 6 days and do not like what I see as far as weather & conditions go these days. Should I be worried or will mother nature rebound with snow & normal temps before I arrive? I'd like more than just corn snow during that week. Any Summit County local out there willing to prognosticate on the weather early April?

went to summit county last yr for spring break and rode at Breck. sunny all day for the entire week. about 50 degrees every day(give or take). the day i left it was kinda cloudy. that night and the next day it snowed non stop during the last week in march. they got about 3' i think. yes, feet. that was last yr though.

looking into april, my guess is as good as yours, and your guess is probably right on(corn). you never know though. could snow at higher elevations. i'm in MT and it's about 70 degrees up here right now. WTF?!?!?!!! it's all melting quick.......a little to quick, so enjoy the corn while you can i guess.

I've been in Aspen and Telluride the past week, with today at Silverton. I'll have daily reports and some pics when I get home next week.

Colorado had an unseasonably dry and warm March, with the most springlike surfaces I've ever seen here from Sunday to Friday. We finally got a little snow Friday night, which hung around most of Saturday and totalled maybe 6 inches here in Telluride, 9 inches at Silverton and a reported foot in Aspen.

Northern Colorado areas are reporting 10-12 new storm totals, with some lingering activity today. I would worry some about cover in sun exposed areas. South facing areas here are patchy, and Telluride is having a 115% season including a 4 foot dump at the end of February. Vail and Summit County are having 70-80% seasons, and surfaces tend to be worse there anyway due to higher skier traffic. Copper and especially A-Basin are likely to be best with their north exposures. I think Breck and the back bowls at Vail will be in trouble without substantial new snow. Winter Park (more snow) and Beaver Creek (low density) might be worth day trips also.
